Our Old House

One of our pet peeves is painted woodwork. There is A LOT of painted woodwork. So we have started taking a 'swing' at it. 

So far, we have found 6 layers of paint on the bathroom door, and maybe 2 layers and stain on the bedroom door. We started out using CitriStrip, it's working great on the bedroom door so far, but the six layers on the bathroom are giving us a run for our money so far.

Every since we found the mold in the family room, we have been trying to find a 'place'  for Janet to lay her head. We batted around lots of ideas, cottages, additions, you name it. Then we had a thought....

Janet found a 1977 31 foot Land Yacht. It's in pretty rough shape, but fixable and a fun fixer upper!

First thing we had to do, was get a place to park. 

The side yard, out in front of the kitchen and back bedroom.

It's always fun to buy an older house. You are just bound to find lots of fun things.

When we bought the house, we knew that their might be a little bit of  a problem with the family room. AnJie cleaned the spot in December, only to have it come back. We bought a dehumidifier, and were emptying it every day. We started finding mold around the door, around the window and around the edges of the carpet. Just a little bit wet....

 So in March, on one of the few nice days we had in the spring, we decided to find out if we could dry out the room ... Then we found a lot more than just a little bit of mold.
